Our asphalt plants, set up in the project regions, produce both hot mix and cold mix. Having our own production facility keeps the project schedule independent of outside suppliers and puts mix quality under our direct control.
Hot mix is used for the main route pavement; cold mix for repairs, patching and low-traffic sections. Because cold mix can be stockpiled, it offers a significant operational advantage in winter and in emergency repair work.
Throughout production, aggregate moisture, mixing temperature and bitumen content are monitored, and a sample is taken from every batch for laboratory testing.
